Rainy Summer Wedding at the Annapolis Maritime Museum | Michelle + Brent

This rainy summer wedding was a great way to start off my summer wedding season!

Something that was so admirable about Michelle and Brent was seeing how positive and carefree they were on their wedding day. Despite the gloomy and rainy start of their day, they definitely adopted the attitude of “Whatever happens, happens. Let’s make today FUN.” As I greeted Michele and her side of the bridal party during the getting ready portion of the day, it was pouring down and I was already thinking of all the Plan Bs for the entire wedding day, such as where we’ll have to move their first look, where we can be shaded for their private portraits, what the backup plan would be for their ceremony which was outdoors, etc. However, when I saw just how accepting and nonchalant Michele was, all the worries melted away because even the Bride was so positive about the day, which I love!

When we arrived at the Annapolis Maritime Museum venue early on for the couple’s first look, all the rain came down to a mere drizzle, and then eventually stopped altogether. It was a miracle, since it was forecasted to last all day. All those Plan Bs that ran through my head earlier was no longer necessary and when I shared the news of the updated weather with Michele, we shared an excited “Wooo!!” and continued on with the day.

Michele and Brent’s first look was such a beautiful moment. As soon as Brent turned around, the smile that appeared on both of their faces was magical. Something I loved so much about this couple was how laugh-y they were, how they laugh fully with their hearts, and how contagious that laughter is. As I photographed their first look, I kept hearing snapshots behind me, and I turned around to see both the couple’s mom shooting away on their iPhones like paparazzis, which I thought was the cutest thing ever!!

The rest of the wedding day breezed by smoothly. A unique touch I loved are the details that the couple incorporated throughout the day – hiring a caricature artist to draw wedding guests during cocktail hour (so cool!!), having glass bottles for the table numbers, bringing clear umbrellas for bridal party group photos in case the weather still didn’t check out, and more.

Congratulations Michele and Brent!
